After impressing the audience as Jo in Pariyerum Perumal, Anandhi has been shooting round the clock for a slew of films. And the latest she’s signed is Vikram Sugumaran’s Raavana Kottam, which stars Shanthnu in the lead. The actress has been shooting for the film for the past couple of days, and interestingly, she began the schedule with a ‘fight song’.
Anandhi says, “The first shot I gave for this film is for a song, in which Shanthnu and I fight. It’s got a catchy tune, and there are some tricky steps as well. This is the first time that I’m doing a number like this, and it’s quite funny to fight on the set.”
This is also the first time that the two actors are teaming up for a film. “Shanthnu is a good performer and an exceptionally good dancer. The look he has in this film… we haven’t seen him like this before,” she says.
Anandhi plays Indra, a feisty woman, in the film. Ask her if the way she chooses her films has changed after Pariyerum Perumal, and she says, “I’ve always been choosing films that have good content, be it Kayal or Pandigai or Rubaai. My role in upcoming films, like Alaudhinin Arputha Camera, has a lot of scope to perform. Now, I’m getting offers where my character is central to the plot, like in this yet-to-be-announced film that’s based on education.”
