Thirantha Puthagam – A Short Film by Vignesh Kumar
Vignesh Kumar, The director of “Thirantha Puthagam” which has opened to a great reviews and over 2.5 Lakh views on YouTube and facebook. He also happens to be Director Shankar’s Assistant Director.
Vignesh Kumar has had a very interesting and emphatic start to his film making career. Films became his passion as he believed this was the best medium to spread quality ideals and messages along with entertainment to the masses. He began his journey by making short films and got his big break in Facebook Neenga Nallavara Kettavara, which became a cult in the short film circles with great reviews. This break got him the great opportunity to work with Director Shankar, who selected him after being impressed with his story line for Enthiran 2.0.
Working under Director Shankar was one of the biggest learning experiences of his life as he was the Assistant Director in charge of locations and costumes & makeup.
During this tenure, the silver lining was when Vignesh was able to get permission for shooting in rare and exotic locations where permission for shooting had never been given before, such as Officers Training Academy and so on.
Vignesh shares that his proudest moment was when both his Role models, Superstar Rajnikanth and Director Shankar watched and greatly appreciated his latest short film, “Thirantha Puthagam”. After watching the Thirantha Puthagam, Shankar sir seems to have asked if he was ready to direct his debut feature film, to which Vignesh had replied positively.
Thus, Vignesh is ready to narrate feature film scripts to producers. The short film is just a sample of his film making style. He also adds that, Directing Ajith in a tailor made script on racing would be his dream project.
Thirantha Puthagam is written and Directed by Vignesh Kumar who has also acted in the film in the lead role. Vignesh kumar is currently working as an Assistant director to Director Shankar sir for the film ‘2.0’ starring Superstar Rajinikanth sir.
